Lodging-to-lodging package (Sea kayaking)

kayak1.jpg (24311 octets)For six (6) days, explore the waters that at one time were amongst the most fish-rich that  New France had to offer. Paddle amidst the phenomenal vistas of the Gaspé Peninsula, beginning with a visit of the Miguasha fossil site (recognised by UNESCO as a world heritage site) where fossils millions of years old await discovery.  Next on the agenda, are the many northern gannets, puffins and other seabirds that gather in colonies on renowned Bonaventure Island, across the sound from the village of Percé.  The journey continues along a historic shoreline stretching from Pointe St. Pierre where Basque fishers settled centuries ago to prepare salted cod for the European market.  Then, paddle along the steep cliffs of Forillon National Park, by way of Cap de la Vieille (Shiphead), a unique strategic point where the waters of the Gulf of St. Lawrence mingle with those of Gaspé Bay.

A  motorised vehicle takes participants from one strategic place to the next, thus leaving as much time as possible for the excursions themselves. Accommodations are provided at lodgings of undeniable quality, notably, the inn at Fort Prével. Meals are provided at reputed Gaspé Peninsula restaurants. A guide-interpreter, and in some cases, a guide-companion, provides the support and information needed for participants to fully enjoy their adventure into the historic and grandiose setting of this beautiful region. In short, this is a felicitous combination of nature and culture!
